At Lost Hill Lake, we take immense pride in creating unforgettable experiences for couples on their special day. Recently, one of our lovely couples chose the lakeside chapel for their intimate elopement, and we couldn’t be more touched by the kind words they shared in their review.

Here’s a look into Loren & Francis’ special day. Their wonderful feedback reminds us why we love what we do.

Lost Hill Lake has a very spiritual aspect to it — something in the land there vibrates an overwhelming sense of peace and healing that is palpable. We lit a fire with the provided fire wood kept in a metal bucket that read, “The first night is on us!” We made s’mores, also provided to us as a special treat on the Blue Sky Bus. We drove to the local grocery store, stocked up on essentials, and slept a very peaceful sleep in a school bus that’s much nicer than some apartments I’ve lived in. 

The moment we got there we knew this was “our place”. Mindy, part of Lost Hills leadership team, was immediately warm and welcoming and showed us around the property. At the time I couldn’t have envisioned just how perfect our wedding would actually turn out to be, but we were excited to put our trust into Lost Hill Lake without hesitation. It just felt good, and right, and like everything would work out for the better. We booked a three night glamping stay in the Blue Sky Bus, which is more secluded and conveniently located right next to the pavilion “chapel by the lake”, where we would have our ceremony. 

The morning of our wedding day was perfect. I woke up right before the sunrise, made coffee in the fully stocked kitchen, and then quietly perched myself in peace as I watched the light of the sun creep up over the enchanted hills, the beautiful autumn colors blushing under the overcast sky. Migrating geese chatted with each other at the lake. Absolutely nothing could go wrong with a morning that beautiful. Amy from Bewitching Beauty showed up around 8:45, and she worked her magic. 

Lost Hill Lake did everything for us — the chapel was beautifully decorated with the items we chose from their collection of available rental decor. They perfectly placed the arbor flowers I pieced together myself by hand. The decor, the chapel, the landscape, offered a truly magical backdrop to our ceremony and we couldn’t have asked for better. They gave us full access to their land which provided spectacular photo opportunities because all of the land is a stage of beauty. Our photographer, my long time friend Tiffany Hafner, did a spectacular job of documenting the experience for us.

Our elopement was perfect, and we couldn’t have had that experience without Lost Hill Lake and their wonderful team of people, as well as our friends Nikki and Tiffany, and the few family members that shared the experience with us. Thank you.
