Solar Eclipse - August 2017
On August 21st, 2017 Lost Hill Lake opened it’s gates to the public for the first time, hosting a viewing party for the once in a lifetime, solar eclipse. Lost Hill Lake was less than five miles from the maximum totality line in Saint Clair, Missouri, giving us over two minutes of darkness and the perfect location for a day full of fun.
Attendees were able to seek shade in the walnut grove, enjoy views of the Meramec River, play yard games, refresh with free water and snack at our s’mores station. Guests also had a variety of food options from great vendors and were able to enjoy the show with solar glasses.
The day provided our guests with great viewing weather, minimal clouds and a bright shinning sun. We had visitors flock to Lost Hill Lake from all over the United States and the world! The time lapse photo above was taken at Lost Hill Lake and shows just how magical the moment was.
We would like to thank the awesome team of vendors that helped make our first event a success:
SugarFire Smoke House
T’s Liquor Lane
Kat’s Closet Boutique Shopping Truck
Kettle Korn
