“The Gourd Father” Ryan Bouma
Cost: $20 general ticket, $30 general ticket + childcare
During this experience, you will be crafting percussion with the “Gourd Father”. Gourd Father Green Bean will create an experience around how to make shakers out of gourds that he has harvested. Participants will select the innards they would like to use as well as have the option of creating outer artwork on your gourd shaker!
Ryan Bouma aka Green bean is a multi-instrumentalist from St. Louis. He revels in seamlessly flowing between a variety of musical genres. He plays Sax, Flute, Harmonica, didgeridoo, and percussion with St. Boogie Brass Band, Moonvalley, Kullus, Fleetwood and family, Hosteen, and Aztecs, Flor De Lua, and other fantastic groups. Whether traveling or at home, he crafts his instruments out of gourds, seashells, coconuts, bamboo, agave stalks, and other renewable materials. His purpose is to connect people with each other and nature through music and gardening.
